Description: Item Information This listing is for a Heavy Duty Deep Transmission Pan with 2.0 Quarts Extra Capacity for AODE, 4R70E, 4R70W, 4R75E and 4R75W Transmissions. It is finished in a Black Powder Coat. A magnetic drain plug and all mounting bolts are included with the pan. This pan has been designed for: + Cooling - extra capacity(2.0 quarts above stock), fins and aluminum construction for reported temperature drops of 10 to 35 degrees + Clearance - medium height maintains clearance + Drain Plug - on the side for safety + Secure Seal - machined flat gasket flange for a leak free seal + Strength - high quality aluminum, thick walls + Fins on bottom of pan for additional clearance + Designed to work with the stock filter and gasket PML designed this transmission pan for 2WD & 4WD Ford trucks and SUVs with the automatic overdrive 4 speed transmission. The AOD has one bolt hole in a slightly different location than the 1992/93 and later versions(AODE, 4R70, 4R70W, 4R70E, 4R75E, 4R75W). Be sure to select the correct one when you order. Cars, such as Mustang and Thunderbird and Lincoln Mark VII, may need the stock capacity pan(search our store for part# 9324-1) because many cars do not have enough ground clearance for a deep pan. Lincoln Town Cars and limos based on the Town Car have installed this pan. Work vehicles like limousines appreciate the easier maintenance and extra capacity for cooling to extend the transmission life. Trucks and SUVs, such as F150, Expedition, and Mountaineer, offer more clearance and can benefit from the extra fluid to aid in reducing fluid temperatures. 1992 to 1993 F150 trucks generally have the AOD transmission. 1994 to 2010 F150 trucks, Expeditions and Explorers with the Ford 4 speed transmission generally have an AODE, 4R70, 4R75 transmission. Configurations vary so always check your vehicle. Verify which transmission you have and look for ground clearance and interference from frame cross members or exhaust components. The three round posts in the bottom of the pan are supports for the filter cast into the pan. PML designed this pan with the filter supports to hold the the 4WD filter in place. Gaskets and Filter PML recommends an aftermarket gasket (rubber, cork or similar) designed to work with the stock pan. Filter requirements for this pan: + AOD – 4WD (Deep) AOD filter is recommended. + AODE, 4R70, 4R75 – 4WD (Deep) AODE/4R70/4R75 filters are recommended. Deep filters have a metal pickup tube. If you run a cover or pan into a boulder and it cracks or is damaged, well, there's nothing PML can help you with there. Modifying our products voids the warranty.
