Description: Please email with any questions. Antique adjustable height ceiling fixture for an oil or kerosene lamp. Lamp is not included it will be a 4 inch in diameter base ti fit holder. Overall length will adjust from 42" to 56". Made in the Victorian Aesthetic period of brass, it has been polished with a wire brush, removing several old coats of gold radiator paint. Some of the brass is the usual golden color and some is more of a rose copper color, sometimes called "red brass". The pulley housing has a scalloped brass collar, as does the smoke bell. The lamp is level and raised and lowers well. The shade holder has a antique milk glass cone-shaped shade, is 5 1/4" high, 13 1/2" diameter with 6 1/4" diameter fitter. It comes with a stamped sheet brass collar. No chips or cracks, a little embedded soot around the edge of the fitter. The small hooks at the ends of the chain for raising and lowering the lamp to light it, were wrapped all around with fine gauge wire to hold them in place to keep the hooks from slipping off from the weight and also the shade holder to prevent damaged to lamp shade or other parts when we bought it someone had wired these onto were they wold stay put. Up top on the pulley wheels you will see what we are talking about the wires holding the chain from moving , you will have to removed the wires to allow the raising and lowering of the fixture ounce everything's in place All will be packaged safely to arrive ready to assemble.
