Description: Antique Victorian Eastlake Ebony Carving Fabric Velvet with Sunburst Threads Mat Portrait Frame. Ornate carving. Rare find! The Eastlake movement was a nineteenth-century architectural and household design reform movement started by British architect and writer Charles Eastlake (1836–1906). The geometric ornaments, spindles, low relief carvings, and incised lines were designed to be affordable and easy to clean; nevertheless, many of the designs which resulted are artistically complex. Excellent antique condition with no issues. Scuff marks, broken threads, chipped wood corners & wears around the wood, metal & cardboard back. Please see all the photos for details. Measurements: ~ 7'' x 9'', fits photo size ~ 3 1/2'' x 5'' or 4'' x 6''
