Gold gilded and embossed design to the front cover is well intact as is the gold gilded and embossed text to the spine face. Exterior shows only minor wear like rubbing to the upper and lower ends of the spine and a number label on the bottom of the spine. Inside front endpaper shows a former owner's bookplate and first few pages before and after the title page show some brief pencil notations, as well as a gift inscription addressed to a certain Capt. Elwell signed by John B.D. Cogswell who was a member of the president of the Massachusetts Senate for the 1877, 1878 and 1879 sessions. Book also has a gift insert from the Bunker Hill Monument Association dated December, 1875. Back endpaper shows only minor pencil notations. Book's binding is tight and well intact. Book is complete with all pages present and none coming loose, detached or missing. Book totals 216 pages, measures approximately 9 3/4 x 6 3/8 x 7/8 inches and weighs about 1 3/4 pounds.
