Named after the tribe that dwelt in "Bait Baws" or the house of Baws , a village in the outskirts of the capital Sana'a . The ruins of the village remains till now days, shown in the attached photo . This Jewish community was one of the oldest populations of indigenous Jews in the world ( ethnically Yemeni ) , but by 1948 most had moved to Palestine. like an uprooted plant, this tradition withered away, leaving few and ever dwindling examples in its homeland of Yemen . The bracelet is in excellent shape for such delicate 100 + years old piece . Even with the missing ornament in the back , it's still an exceptionally well preserved piece for the exceedingly intricate Bawsani style .
