Description: Antique Stanley No 65 Type 1 Spokeshave (Hard to find) -- This plane is a very early Type 1 of this model 65, as evident by the blade logo. It is 9 1/2" and the cutter is 1 1/2" wide. The Type 1 characteristics of this No 65 are: 1) "STANLEY RULE & LEVEL PAT. FEB 27, 1993" is stamped into the blade/cutter in a circle (see photo), 2) It is only 9 1/2" long as opposed to the newer models which are 10" long, 3) The casting does not have "No" on the left handle and does not have "65" on the right side handle in the body, 4) There are no holes at the end of the handles as with later models. Since this is a Type 1, there will not be a lot of movement on the price, as I'm seriously thinking of keeping it, being as it is a Type 1. However, please feel free to make a "reasonable" offer.
