Description: This is an antique tart or pastry server. It has a shallow bowl so might also be referred to as a spoon. It appears to be handmade of silver but there is no silver content marking that I can find. It is marked "ITALY" on the back. (See arrow in last photo above.) The design is quite ornate with some kind of winged symbol at the top. Below this is a nude woman with her arms raised; her legs twist into a spiral that continues into the design below her on the handle. There is a ring between the winged creature and the woman. (Note position of ring in first and second photos above.) In the server's bowl, a boy is holding up an animal (a rabbit or a fox?) by its hind legs with his dog looking on. There is an elaborate garden or greenery all around them with some birds worked into the design. This server measures about 10-1/4" in length. The widest part of the bowl is 3" in diameter. I believe this piece to be quite old but it is in very good condition with no breaks. There is some tarnish and minor scratches consistent with age.
