Description: Lovely set of 7 hand painted ceramic plates with reticulated borders made by Gmundner Keramik of Austria, which has been in operation for 500 years. According to my research, the printed mark on the bottoms of these plates dates them to the period 1908-1922; they also have incised numbers that are difficult to make out. These plates measure 7 1/2" in diameter and have painted multicolored floral designs on a white ground in the center; the borders are a mottled green color with brown highlights. There are 3 different floral designs: 4 of the first design with a central blue tulip-like flower, 2 of the second design with a central blue daisy-like flower, and one plate with a central purple flower. All 7 of the plates are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. These have a charming, antique country look and come from one of the premier ceramic manufacturing factories in Europe!
