Description: This is a superb Late Regency brass inlaid rosewood writing slope in fine antique condition with its original keys still present and working. Brass inlay borders consisting of a scrolling design adorn the top and front, with an elaborate central name plate for H. Fraser 1830 on top and a decorative escutcheon with working key to the front. Brass flush handles are present to the sides. The lid opens on brass hinges to reveal a pen tray, two open compartments for ink bottles (missing) and the original deep magenta velvet covered writing slope. A small key opens the slope to reveal an additional storage area below. Dimensions: Width 35 x Depth 26 x Height 14 cmWeight 2.2 kg Condition: The writing slope is in very good antique condition with all inlay present. There are minor repairs to two of the top corners which are quite subtle. The box has been gently cleaned and given a wax finish in our workshop.
