Description: This is a scarce to rare Melrose pattern crystal bowl signed Libbey with the sword/saber under the name. (This signature was used from 1896 to1906.). This rare almost 12" long oval bowl with pointed ends formed from deeply cut flared hobstars was hand cut from a beautifully sparling clear blank which is at least 1/2" to 5/8" in thickness. This can be appreciated by the very deep cutting of the 4 jewel like centers of the hobstars. From the size and shape, I believe it was meant to serve oranges or other special fruit. The size is 11 3/4" in length, 4 5/8" wide at center and 1 3/4" high at center. It weighs about 2 lbs.The condition is immaculate - clean, sparkling and with no visible nor finger felt flaws. All special pieces are triple wrapped, securely double boxed, tracked and insured for delivery to you,
