Description: Made in Portugal possibly 18th century. These hand-painted tiles have a unique splotchy appearance and each one is a little different. Glazing is a mix of manganese and brown with off-white background. They have been salvaged so there are signs of distress and age, some edge and corner chips, glaze pops, etc. A couple have been glued together-see photos. Each tile measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 3/8" thick. Last photo shows 2 more at no charge - these have also been glued. Use in a back splash, alternate these with solid colors to cover a larger area, or surround with a border.
