Description: Please note that I will be separately listing 10 original antique sample cigar box labels today, 6 of which are embossed. According to some preliminary research I did, they all date sometime from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. They were all framed at a much later date. This is an antique original embossed sample cigar box label titled EL NOBLE. The frame it is in measures 7 3/8 inches high x 11 1/2 inches wide (18.7 cm x 29.2 cm). The label measures 5 3/4 inches high x 9 3/8 inches wide (14.6 cm x 23.8 cm). This is referred to as an embossed stone lithograph cigar box label. If you could see the back you would see the indentation creating the embossed design. O.L. Schwencke was a lithographer and would have had a sample book of these cigar box labels. The colors on the lithograph are rich and vibrant. Someone attached the label to a gold piece of paper. The label has scattered bends to it. There are spots underneath the glass, which may have formed from moisture at some point. The frame is in very good condition. It weighs a little over 12 oz. (348 g).
