Description: Please note that I will be separately listing 10 original antique sample cigar box labels today, 6 of which are embossed. According to some preliminary research I did, they all date sometime from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. They were all framed at a much later date. This is an antique original embossed sample cigar box label titled COMMERCIO ESPECIAL. The frame it is in measures 8 1/4 inches high x 10 5/8 inches wide (21 cm x 27 cm). The label measures 5 3/4 inches high x 8 1/4 inches wide (14.6 cm x 21 cm). This is referred to as an embossed stone lithograph cigar box label. If you could see the back you would see the indentation creating the embossed design. O.L. Schwencke was a lithographer and would have had a sample book of these cigar box labels. The colors on the lithograph are rich and vibrant. Someone created a hand cutout mat to put around the label. The label has four holes in it along the left side and I am sensing they are original and probably from the book. There are a few small scattered bends to it. There are a few scratches on the glass. The frame is in very good condition. It weighs 15 oz. (422 g).
