Description: This charming Noah's ark which is hand made of wood was made in Germany, probably from the Erzgebirge region which is well known for it's traditional wooden toys and dates from c1880. This flat bottomed ark which has a lithograph covering has a hinged lid which can be lifted to store away the figures (Mr & Mrs Noah and 5 other figures) and the 36 animals which are hand painted and hand carved of wood. There is a mixture of animals with most being farm animals and birds (plus 2 additional animals are also included which did not originally belong to the set but came with it). Material: Wood. Date: c1880. Dimensions: Length: 33 cm (13"). Width: 10 cm (4"). Height: 15 cm (6"). Weight: 330 g. Condition: Very good used antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age.
