Antique New Haven Clock Company Victorian Beehive Mantle Clock

Description: For your consideration is a great example of a Victorian beehive or round Gothic shelf clock made by the New Haven Clock, Co, New Haven, CT, mid 19th Century (the 1800's) 8-day, 30-hour strike, with white enameled metal dial with Roman numeral chapter rings, in an arched mahogany veneered case, the front door with reverse-painted glass. The interior bears the original paper label. On the back of the clock case is the wood with a scratch-engraved name (Poelet?)' with an undistinguishable scratch-engraved name and the date "16/7/49", as well as another "--1002."The Clock measures 48 cm (18-7/8 inches) tall; 27 cm (10-5/8 inches) wide, 12 cm (4-3/4 inches) deep Movement works. Chime works. Glass is intact. Original painted glass is intact and shows wear consistent with its age. Key included. Please review the photos as they form part of the description. Will need to be leveled in order to keep proper time. Item will be shipped with the pendulum removed. Clock will be well packed (you can keep the nice soft blankets or donate them as you see fit).
