Description: An unusual and attractive spice or medicine jar, made from a hollowed, round gourd, with a carved wood lid, held in place with a length of old cord.I believe it to be of Himalayan origin, 19th century, possibly from one of the Nepalese hill tribes. It measures 3" in diameter by 3 1/4" tall, with an appealing old, un-touched surface. There is one short, tight check descending from the upper rim, but no other condition problems.
