Description: A very unique find! I’ve never seen anything quite like this one. It seems to just be a tray. I’m honestly not totally sure if it’s a basket or if the structure is wooden. It seems like it may be a basket. However every surface is covered in one of three materials which makes it hard to tell what’s underneath. The bottom surface is lined in silk. The sidewalls are lined in ornate needlepoint. The interior bottom is lined with a black and white picture. The picture features a very young mother or older sibling with two children gathered around her. It’s quite an interesting piece as I said. It has a good size at roughly 8.5”x7”. Condition is fair at best. I pulled it out of either a dusty attic, or basement while picking an old estate collection. The picture surface is a bit dirty with some light damage. The silk base has some water staining. Overall the item looks quite old and is a bit soiled. It’s so unique that in my opinion it’s still well worth having. It would be a great addition to any basket or primitives collection. I would guess that it’s 19th century but I really don’t know more specifically when. It’s really a neat thing. Shipping will be ASAP! Thanks
