Description: Hopwell & Crew's Navy and Army March Album for the Pianoforte is a music score book and piece of British military history in one. Wonderful Victorian era graphics, with Art Nouveau design, including colour images of the British commanders, Lord Charles Beresford and Lord Roberts. The red, blue and black art work was done by H.G. Banks and he is credited on the cover. This music book was originally sold for One Shilling and was published in London. However at some point this copy was sold in Pretoria South Africa and the music shop's details are stamped on the front and table of contents pages. Approximately 48 pages, and 14" x 10" The marches are from various composers and include: Navy and Army (Watson); For Home and Glory (St. Quentin); The Royal Navy Brigade (Bonheur); Shoulder to Shoulder (Kiefert); Britannia (Adair); British Tars (Watson); The Queen's Colours (D'Orsay); Our Lads in Blue (Therese) Please see condition description for additional information.
