Description: This listing is for Group of Antique M Z Austria 10pc Demitasse / Chocolate Set / Teapot 4 Cups 4 Saucers , with Pink Roses and fine gilt detail. The covered pot is 10 1/4 inches tallest to the top of the lid's finial , about 6 inches widest at bulbs at waist , and 6 3/4 inches handle to spout , weighing 720 grams with lid on. it is marked with M.Z. Austria Mark which dates the piece between 1884 and 1909 , making it at least 110 years old. It is in excellent as shown condition with the exception of a surface chip at the right top of the fluted exterior rim as shown. Four cups and four saucers: Cups weigh 49,49,49 and 51 grams . Two are in excellent as shown condition. One has two hairlines , one starting at rim about 1/4 inches to the left of handle which goes down about 3/4 inches and another to the right of the handle about mid point on first rose which goes down to near base. The fourth one is broken with two piece of body to the right of the handle starting from top rim were broken off and reattached with very little missing. Two of the cups also have roses inside but two don't. The one with two hairlines and one of the excellent condition ones have roses inside. Cups are about 3 1/8 inches tall and about 2 7/16 inches in top rim diameter. Four saucers are about 5 inches in widest diameter , and weigh 60,61,64 and 66 grams . They are all in excellent as shown condition. The Lid and its underside are in excellent condition. In 1909 the firm was bought by C.M. Hutschenreuther The MZ Austria marks were used by this porcelain factory since it was in 1884 bought on auction by Moritz Zdekauer Bank. The Cups and saucers are very fine egg shell like porcelain. Marked at base as shown. Please see images for colors and details.
