In my case it was actually glitter, but don’t tell the person I sold it to! Back around the turn of the millennia, I was just an ambitious young boy who had recently discovered I could list my old knick-knacks on eBay, and to my surprise, actually get money in return! This was no garage sale income either - I could actually begin to sponsor my hobbies doing this. I had made a bet with my best friend that I could sell “literally anything” on eBay, and somehow that turned into an afternoon raid on my mom’s craft cabinet. We emerged with some dollar store glitter, and behold – one boy’s junk is another’s… pixie dust? I put that “pixie dust” up on eBay and in less than a month I’d made $50. Fast forward to my college years. It begins with a attaining a four-year degree in engineering, I realized that I wanted to seek a career in service – I wanted to do something that would impact people in a lasting way. I pursued that dream and spent another four years working as a patrol officer and paramedic. While I loved the work and the opportunities it gave me, I concluded that the medical field – specifically a Physician Associate (assistant) profession – was for me, but I had many courses that needed to be taken before I could apply and I was in need of a job. I had been a reserve police officer throughout college and knew that I enjoyed the profession. I transitioned to working fulltime with the Tulsa Police Department, during which I finished my paramedic license. During this time, I took classes and applied for PA school. After 4 years of work I have now been accepted into graduate school to be a Physician Assistant and with that I am now tasked with paying the $112,000 tuition bill! I decided the best way to accomplish that lofty goal is by leaning on my skill set of trading collectables. Thus came about The Trouvaille Project (TTP). The Trouvaille Project’s goal is to discover those “lucky” finds at hard to find estate, garage, auctions and other sales from across the world and make them readily available at fair pricing. It is with every intention that TTP buys responsibly and lists at a fair price. “Home Runs” or price gouging are not the point, but rather sales of relatively high volumes and mild margin products. Shipping:I combine shipping on coins, bullion, watches and jewelry only. For these auctions I will take the highest shipping cost and add $0.75 for each additional item regardless of type. Please communicate by email if you intend to combine shipping and when you have finished purchasing. At that point I will send an updated invoice. You may bid/buy for 7 days past purchase of the first item for purposes of combined shipping. After the 7 days all auctions will be forfeited if not paid. Shipping will not be combined or refunds made after a listing had been paid for. Larger items or unique items not in the coins, bullion, watches and jewelry category have fixed shipping costs; however, I will add auctions of coins, bullion, watches and jewelry to larger item purchases at $0.75 a piece and with a 7-day time limit from first purchase as previously discussed. Coins, bullion, watches and jewelry of higher estimated value (>$150) will have shipping costs above the standard $3.95 charge to help cover increased packaging costs.
