Antique L Clarkson Framed Lithograph Violet In the Lily Bed

Description: This is a Framed Lithograph "Violet In the Lily Bed" by L Clarkson. At the time of the original listing, this was one of two framed L. Clarkson floral lithographs purchased from the same estate sale, each being listed separately. We were not able to find out anything specific about these pieces at the sale. We are not experts with respect to art. I examined the prints as best I could with a loupe and I believe they are original prints but I cannot say to a 100% certainty. I found a several L. Clarkson prints offered online at higher prices, as well as several bound poetry and art collections with L. Clarkson lithographs. I do not know if these two lithographs are plates from such a collection or not. All of the L. Clarkson works I found had attributions as being circa 1880 to 1900. If you purchase both of our L. Clarkson pieces we will quote very substantially discounted combined shipping on request. The lithograph is very nicely matted and framed in a 14 1/2" x 17 3/4" gilt wood frame. The opening in the matte is 8 1/2" x 11 1/2". The back is sealed with a brown paper dust cover, and there is a sawtooth picture hanger. At the time of the original listing, we are beginning to work our way through listing a wide variety of art work from a number of periods and styles. Condition Lithograph As found the lithograph has a light triangular stain at the bottom right that extends into the gold border that is part of the print but not into the rest of the image. Matte The matte is in excellent condition. Frame The frame has some minor scratches / rubbing on the left and right at about the same level as the signature as seen marked with a pair of arrows. I assume this could be touched up easily with a little gilt if desired. There are some spots of color variation in the gilt on the bottom outside edge as seen on a closeup photo.
