Dates approximately 1860/1890. In WONDERFUL restored condition.In very good order for this style of inlaid box. This is a wonderful restored Sorrento box. Inlaid to the top with various fruitwoods and ebony with an outer inlaid border. Couple of minor tiny infill repairs which are nothing. To gain aces to the keyhole the top part of the carcass moves forward and panel six V1 drops down. It is a really superb box. Coming very difficult to obtain these boxes in this sort of condition.It is a really terrific box!! I’M PRETTY SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Box retains the original lock, hinges and top catch. Supplied with a silk tassel and Victorian key that sadly does not lock the box and is supplied and described as being decorative only. ONLY GET THIS TYPE OF QUALITY FROM US. Comprising a wonderful interior that boasts a later wooden tray finished to a superb standard that compliments. This has been relined in expensive velvet material of the highest quality, the same as the interior of the box. All the added dividers within the tray can easily be repositioned or removed if desired. The tray can hold a few rings in an upright position. Underneath the additional tray and beneath the base of the box have also been lined in velvet to stop any scratches to other surfaces. A superb box, and would make a fantastic gift.
