Description: Thanks to fellow ebayer historismus_glas for providing the maker and description of this glass as follows. This set was produced by Fritz Heckert in Petersdorf, Silesia, German Empire in the early to mid-1880’s. The decoration designer was Heckert’s brother-in-law, the architect from Leipzig, Oskar Jummel who was Heckert’s most prolific designer from about 1875 to 1902. Jummel is credited with countless hundreds of designs. This listing is for this beautiful antique decanter set. The two decanters are hand blown and hand enameled and have indented sides. They have a raised enameled design in cream and gold all over. They are numbered on the bottom and have numbered stoppers. The stoppers have very minor chips to the inner area and one decanter has either less wear or just a more detailed enamel work although the design is the same. The glass is clear but with an applied gold luster that has wear here and there. Other than the minor chips to the inner stopper there is no noted damage. Included are the eight tiny handled cups that also have slight differences in wear and color. Six have no noted damage. Two do have cracks as shown in the photos with the red circles highlighting the areas. They still display well as the cracks are not overly noticeable.
