Description: Description Antique 19th century French Palais Royal wax seal wheel with six intaglios engraved from colorful glass tiles. Each are prong set onto gilt ormolu spokes on a rotating wheel and ornate mount. Surmounted onto a faceted purple glass handle. In good antique condition, some nicks to handle, there is a chip to the tile with the imagery of the vanity. The seal wheel measures 4" length x 1 3/8" width x 7/8" deep. The matrices are 1/2" x 7/16". The six intaglios include: Depicting an image of a snail with the wording 'Always at home' Pensez a moi / Think of me 'All's Well' A Greek column or pillar surrounded by the words 'Secure whilst upright' Réponse s'il vous plaît / Please respond A vanity mirror with the words 'Un vrai ami' / A true friend About Us Welcome to the Antique Boutique.
