Description: Offered is this beautiful antique 2 piece French majolica asparagus serving platter. Made in Fives-Lilles, France between 1864-1892. It is marked on the back with a U and the numbers 1305 impressed in the clay. This is featured in the Asparagus and Artichoke book on pages 88 & 89. This gorgeous antique platter still has its original insert with drainage holes. The insert is made in the form of 12 asparagus with purple tips tied with a blue ribbon. The platter itself features Artichoke flowers and leaves on each corner on a cream background. It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. It has overall glaze crazing which is normal and expected with antique majolica. It measures 14.5 inches long and 10 inches wide. This will look amazing in your collection.
