Description: French Samual Marti 8-day wind two train suspension spring movement (unrestored & in original condition) inserted into a crystal regulator clock case containing clear beveled glass on all 4 sides (glass chip on upper right corner of front door); 6 green translucent onyx columns adorned with gilded capitols & bases in the Egyptian Style; Egyptian Style gilded bronze friezes wrap top & bottom on both sides; gilded cartouche below front door; bronze cast chariot topper (bronze work unsigned); case rests upon 6 round elaborate gilded feet; beveled glass on all sides; all gilded decorations assuming Egyptian & Neo-Classical influences. High quality enameled 3 5/8” diameter faceplate contains Roman numerals; a small FAST/SLOW adjustment gear centered above numerals; adjustable gilded mercury compensating pendulum; front hinged gilded brass door frame fitted with beveled glass closes against the gilded door frame surround; the backside contains a second rear door also with clear beveled glass set into a gilded door frame; evidence of previous repairs to the right side of the onyx stone base shown in photos; the ceiling mounted steel coil gong resonates beautifully within the clock cavity allowing the sound to softly escape the clock case; both movement & gong assemblies are mounted securely to case. Chiming correctly & running on time. Winding key included. APPROXIMATE CLOCK DIMSIONS: height 22” x width 13 ½” x depth 4 ½” am an antique clock collector wishing to reduce my clock collection. I am NOT a retailer. This clock comes from my collection & has been running successfully for several years with no difficulties. It has been tested prior to this offering. Clock set-up to establish the correct “beat” is paramount to the clock’s operation, accomplished through placement & leveling (sometimes with rotating the movement while in the clock case). Additionally, temperature & humidity may affect it over time as well. Do not over wind a clock. Do not over wind the clock. Lastly, we cannot not guarantee the clock’s operation once shipped. I do take pride as a seller and buyer of these clocks. All shipments will be carefully wrapped in bubble wrap (key & pendulum wrapped separately) set tightly into box containing Styrofoam peanuts, tapped shut & then placed into second box (as may be necessary) filled with padding for added protection, taped shut on all sides.
