Description: DescriptionAntique French Carcel Moderator Glass Engraved Table Oil Lamp Shade Globe 19thC This is a rare hand blown French oil lamp shade, made for moderator / carcel oil lamps.It has a beautiful design, with a satin bottom half and a clear top half that has been hand engraved with a lovely grapes and leaves pattern. The shade has its original brass rings on the top and bottom openings. Made around 1850-1880, in France.Dimensions:Height shade: about 5 1/8 inch or 13 cmDiameter shade: about 5 1/4 inch or 13.5 cmDiameter top opening: about 2 inch or 5 cmDiameter bottom opening: about 2 inch or 5 cmCondition: Some very minimal surface wear, some patina to the brass rings, an area with a manufacturing imperfection containing black dust particles.
