Description: Antique Edme Samson Boy with Fife and Sword This great piece in the Bow style was made by Edme Samson (I think). Edme Samson began his career in the 1830's in Paris and was a famous Copyist of Museum Quality items. His works have since become collectible in their own right. Stunningly executed with exceptional detail. This piece follows the later Bow rococo base very closely but was not able to find a documented Bow piece with fife and sword, only a fife and drum and even then was not able to find a photo. The glaze and colors appear to be more 19th Century than 18th but I haven't definitively ruled out Bow, just a gut feeling. Approx 7"H X 4"W. Condition: Really nice condition, losses to foliage and leaves, otherwise minor imperfections to be expected. I will be listing a large Collection of fine English Porcelain so please continue watching. Terms of Sale Please review photos closely. I try and represent items as accurately as possible.
