Description: Very Rare Antique Victorian Clockwork / Windup Automaton Doll - she has a beautifully painted pretty bisque face and upper body. Her arms are leather (or kid). She is dressed in a Lilac Silk Dress adorned with Victorian Lace and Ribbons. Printed around the edge of the cardboard base is: " Patented July 15th 1862: also, in Europe 20 December 1862. The doll measures approx. 24cm high.Really Unusual and Sweet Item. Overall in very good antique condition - some of the lace is torn and detached in places and currently although she should walk the mechanism **does Not work**. The key fits and winds but her metal legs don't walk - they "click" as you wind, so possibly she is overwound? I believe someone with watch/clock repair experience could probably sort fairly quickly.From smoke and pet free home.
