Description: Beautiful carved Chinese hard stone tower/column. It could be a brush holder or a vase for dried flowers. It’s a beautiful carving. It looks simple but the amount of work that went into this object is hard to comprehend in 2024. I’m guessing it’s late Qing or Republican period but it’s kind of hard to tell. The piercing work is impressive. It stands 10” tall and is about 2” across. All carved from a single piece of hard stone. On further inspection it’s possible that the top ring is applied rather being solid all the way up and down. The rest is certainly solid though. Looks like Shoushan stone to my eye. Could be a variety of jade or possibly soapstone. The top of the stone does have a translucent quality. Ships ASAP! Thanks
