Description: This is an antique "Tammany Mechanical Bank" by J. & E. Stevens Co. of Cromwell, Connecticut. The bank was made in the form of William Tweed better known as "Boss Tweed". He was remembered for embezzling huge sums of money from the City of New York. The bank works by putting a coin in Boss Tweed's hand and when it drops into his pocket he nods his head. There is some original paint with great patina and a crack on the bottom left that does not affect the bank. See Pics. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions.
