Description: For your consideration is an antique kerosene lamp with a porcelain fount and an ornate cast iron base. On the top of the is baked on yellow. The sides of the fount are decorated with a landscape and a floral design. Most of the decorations are in various shades of brown, but muted shades of other colors do exist. The factory concealed the bolt that joins the decorated porcelain fount to the ornate cast iron base. The piece that does the concealing is brass. The No. 2 SOCONY burner is brass and screws into a brass Taplin-Brown type collar. The total height is approximately 17 3/8 inches. From the surface it is setting on, to the top of the collar is approximately 8 3/8 inches. On the ornate cast iron base, from the tip of a toe, to the tip of the opposite toe, is approximately 6 1/2 inches. This kerosene lamp is an old item, that was used. The porcelain fount has 0 cracks and 0 chips, however the baked on yellow finish, has two small chips. Some would have the brass polished. The original black paint, on the cast iron base, is worn. The thumbwheel on the SOCONY burner, turns like it should, but the wick, does not move. I assume the chimney is a reproduction. All parts need to be properly cleaned.
