Antique Bridgeport Brass Co 1875 W Glass Tank Beads Velvet Brass Ornate Base 🤩

Description: We have been hanging on to this gorgeous piece for years in our own collection. We are moving abroad in a year or so and this one isn’t coming with us (sadly). We have others listed from our own collection… We have never seen one like this. The velvet is still intact (there is light stainage )and the glass tank is in very good condition as well. Please go through all pictures. Really unusual and I’d love to be schooled on it if someone has any knowledge to impart. I did research the piece since I haven’t seen velvet on a lamp before nor that beadwork, didn’t come up with too much… but I did find out velvet was invented around 2000 BC. lol Base is lovely and ornate I do not see markings on that. The burner has a date of aug 1875 The collar below which is lightly different in color is marked march 75. And that collar holds the glass tank in perfectly and that glass tank is an odd size so that collar was made for the lamp. Velvet inside is hard to get to… you’d have to take base apart and do a lot. The top of the velvet is hand sewn, not machine serged (and this is my expertise area)…. So I do not think this is a “married lamp”. I guess I’m so geeked about owning such an amazing piece and only now am I really researching it…. Glass on body is imperfect and has bubbles . It does have minor scratches and whatnot but sheesh, this is 149 years old… Very unusual piece. There are no other markings on it that I can see. As is as described. Please go through all pictures.
