Description: This is a fantastic and well-done Antique Americana WPA World War II Air Force WWII Man Portrait Oil Painting on canvas, depicting a stoic and handsome WWII era American airman, staring slightly away from the viewer's gaze, wearing a leather flight jacket and service cap, and holding a lit cigarette in his right hand. This piece is not signed on the front, however there are two signatures in graphite on the stretcher bars of the verso which read: "Jocelyn Camp and Camp." I could not find any information on this talented artist, but perhaps you know more about her or her work? Additionally, there is a name written in cursive which reads: "Alexander (???)" This is possibly the name of the subject depicted. The patch on the subject's jacket may reveal what flight squadron he was in, but I do not recognize the insignia (If you do know, please send me a message!) Approximately 22 1/4 x 28 1/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 18 x 24 inches. Very good condition for age, with some speckles of minor paint loss to the painted surface, and some minor wood splitting and edge wear to the original period wood frame (please see photos.) Acquired in Pasadena, California. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer. Please check out my other listings for more wonderful and unique artworks!
