Antique 19thC Meissen Porcelain Puce Scenic Vase Porzellan Vogel Szene Scene

Description: For sale is a really nice vase made by Meissen in the mid 19th century . It is hand painted in the front with a superb putti scene in puce including three putti with fishing gear in a landscape surrounding and to the back with a cherub holding an arrow. Really good quality scenes! The vase has a really nice shape to it with the main body having a handle to either side decorated with oak leaf garlands. There is also a large oak leaf garland hanging from a blue bow on the front and back upper part of the main body highlighted with gilding. The foot has an oak leaf garland around the round part of it sitting on a square bottom. Amazingly the vase still has its original lid with a nice oak leaf finial. The piece is marked underneath the base with the under glaze blue crossed swords as well as some impressed numbers and incised marks as shown. The vase is about 9 inches tall, 5.75 inches wide and 4 inches deep. It is in OK condition - it was drilled as a lamp and reconnected with modern hardware. The lid has a small chip to two of the oak leaves, a bit of wear to the gold trim and an almost chip to the underside edge that never came off. It has a small dent from when it was made in the side. The main body has some chips to the oak leaves of the garlands but displays nicely. The base has chips to each corner with signs of old restorations to them that have mostly come off again, two chips to the oak leaf design and damage to the top part where it meets the main body as shown. Not in perfect condition but worthy of a good restoration given the superb quality of the piece!
