Description: Genuine antique set of Penny plain sheets by Redington for the toy theatre play version of ‘Baron Munchausen’. Most sheets are ‘Remington’s’ some are ‘Pollock’s’. I take this to mean that the Remington’s are pre- 1874 (when Remington died) and the Pollock’s are post1874 when Pollock took over the business printing from the same copper plates. It is not quite complete: All of the character sheets are there. Of the 13 scenery sheets No. 10 is missing. Of 4 wing sheets No.s 1 and 3 are missing. Both ‘trucks’ sheets are present. The book is missing. Scene 13 is printed on slightly thicker paper. It isn’t one of the more modern reproductions- but may be more recent (I’m not certain). A great set in good condition.
