Description: Here is a very unique working clock, a figural bird and a metal bird cage, which hangs on a large curved bird cage hook with bass, mostly brass I would venture. The clock works great, when well, the bird moves back and forth counting seconds, I am not sure exactly how time is kept, as there is a sphere in the center with numbers on it, and the floor of the bird cage also has markings. I have wound the clock up, the bird moves fine, and the clock runs for a long time. But I have not tested the accuracy of the clock. When I wind the alarm mechanism, the alarm works, but I'm not sure how to set it, and it seems to alarm when I wind it, so there may be some issue with actually setting a time for the alarm to go off. As the photos reflect, The birdcage reflects a good bit of wear and age, and the numbers and specifically the base of the birdcage reflect age and spots, so this will never be a museum quality clock. I understand that the base is very hard to find, as usually one just finds the clock. Please review photos and feel free to ask questions. Most likely German maker, this wonderful figural bird in birdcage wind up clock on stand, metal, will make a terrific addition to any vintage unique themed clock or bird or birdcage related timekeeping novelty clock collection, or vintage quality made most likely German or possibly even french, metal bird and bird cage related unique time keeping instrument or clock-related memorabilia collection.
