Description: ANTIQUE CIRCA 1928, SOUTH BEND WATCH CO., SOUTH BEND, IN USA, 21 JEWEL, STUDEBAKER GRADE, MODEL 2, SIZE 16s, DOUBLE ROLLER, MECHANICAL WIND-UP MEN'S POCKET WATCH IN A STAR WATCH CASE CO., USA, ORNATE ART DECO DESIGNED, EMPEROR MODEL, CHROME PLATED BASE METAL CASE WITH SCREWBACK COVER, MEASURES 1-15/16” or 49mm IN DIAMETER, IT IS 1/2" or 12mm THICK MOVEMENT SERIAL NUMBER # 1212475, CASE SERIAL NUMBER # 0490740 NO PERSONAL MONOGRAMS OR ENGRAVINGS, HAS BEEN TESTED FOR OVER 5 DAYS OF WORKING AND FAIRLY ACCURATE TIME KEEPING CONDITION, BUT MAY START AND STOP WHEN MOVED AROUND HEAVILY Has been tested for over 5 straight days of working and fairly accurate time keeping condition, running 1 minute slow per 24 hour period, and it may start and stop if moved around heavily. It is not overwound, balance does move freely, second hand moves when running, and hands adjust feature works as it should. Exterior of the case shows light wear, including typical surface marks, scratches, and scratches and yellowing over the acrylic crystal. Dial shows light patina and soiling, while the back of the movement is clean with light tarnish. It is marked on the inside of the case cover STAR W.C.CO. EMPEROR QUALITY0490740. Dial reads SOUTH BEND and back of the movement is marked SOUTH BEND WATCH CO. U.S.A. 21 JEWELS -8- ADJUSTM'TS DOUBLE ROLLER STUDEBAKER 1212475, where based in online serial number databases, it should correctly date this watch to 1928 as a grade Studebaker, model 2, and size 16s.
