Description: A charming 1920's hand made prairie style schoolhouse doll house of one floor accessible with a hinged lid and front stairs leading to double entrance doors.Old French cream tan and mustard yellow paint. The top is reddish stained or milk paint, with two large skylight windows to peek through. Scalloped corbels, molding and front crest...it has a tiny movement, so if desired you could poke a bit of glue in the line. It even has its early paper student school work and lessons displayed on the walls with blackboards or simulated chalk boards that surround the interior.Original rope and pulley style arch cove glass windows that open and close sliding up and down; one at rear left has trouble always staying closed completely. Architectural trim work with a flag pole.Signed on base in red but only a few letters are decipherable....I think it starts with a 'B'Architecture elements feature a basic prairie style with country desks and blackboards. Cove arches. Carved details into wood.It displays beautifully ~! Not perfect new but beautifully old ~!It lasted through the Depression era with maintenance issues of old paint, dirt, a back side small window crack, a front door requires remount...hinges are present so they just need to be poked into their slots, a front porch right sliver edge loss and left stair rail loss, interior student-desk chips, and the flag pole is broken at the base; an early rough break there, as well as a rough tip area too, so it may or may not be the complete length. Its entire structure can easily be glued back, as well as have a flag made. If you examine the photos, you can see its condition and I can send you a close up photo. All its aged wear is expected for a true primitive that has been well loved and used for child play through the years.Beautiful authentic children's schoolhouse Folk Art; rare to find a miniature schoolhouse.22 1/2 - 26 " deep includes porch x 19 " wide x 13 - 18 " tall includes crest with a 9 1/2 " flag poleShipping is buyer's choice; whether by freight, courier, or fed ex home delivery~
