Description: Vintage Antique 1889 Wizard Cuff Holder – Gambler Card Cheat Ace-Up-Sleeve. Genuine antique – the back is stamped “PAT. FEB.5.1889” The front of the clasp has an ornate pattern, as does the central backing plate which is stamped “WIZARD”. The clasp section swivels 360 degrees. The clip at the other end opens up 90 degrees. Back in the Wild West, shirt cuffs and collars were replaceable (due to the dirt) and these gizmo’s were designed to hold the cuffs to the shirt sleeve. Rumour has it the old Wild West gamblers used these gadgets to hide an ace up their sleeve. This stunning cuff holder measures 6.3cm in length. There are no markings to indicate silver content.
