Description: Antique 1837 Rose Gold Filled Natural Claw Set Garnet Chase Designed Brooch 5.2g is a rare and exquisite piece from the Victorian era. Made in England, this brooch features a brilliant cut red garnet, intricately designed to resemble a flower. With a metal purity of 12ct, this handmade brooch is jeweller certified, showcasing the craftsmanship and elegance of early Victorian jewellery. Its original C-clasp was updated by the owners granddaughter to a safety clasp in the early 1900’s but still has the original pin intact. Any collector of fine antique jewellery would be proud to own this rare exceptional piece. In wonderful condition remembering it is aged between 165 to 180 years old. I paid to have it professionally cleaned & tested by a jeweller. (Not acid tested as this destroys valuable jewellery & is unreliable also) Note Most antique early pre Georgian era fine jewellers did not use hallmarks. This only became applicable by law due to unsavoury people selling non genuine jewellery in the United Kingdom in 1907 with America soon to follow.
