Description: Presented is a completely hand wrought, Swedish silver tea caddy made in 1815. This early 19th century piece is in incredible condition for its age. This piece is heavy for its size. The dog form finial, shell and paw feet and the lion face decorations are all separately cast and applied. The locking mechanism works well and we have the original key. This piece is finely constructed. There is a small hinged handle on the top. but we could not get it to stand up on its own to be photographed. The piece is marked with the Swedish 3 crown duty mark, a maker’s mark and I3 for the year 1815. This piece is guaranteed to be at least .830 purity silver. This piece is in incredible condition for its age. There is a solder repair to a tiny split on the back of the piece next to the hinge. There are no missing parts, no breaks and no other repairs. The tea caddy measures 4 1/8 by 6 inches, is 6 inches tall and weighs 792 grams or 27.9 ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
