Description: This Boston and Sandwich Glass Oil Lamp Insert was once part of a lamp that must have been broken, but the decorative insert survived with only a few chips on the top and a shard missing from the side. See pictures. It is a home in snow scene in shades of brown and white. It measures 3.75 inches tall, 2.25 inches wide, and 7.25 inches in circumference. The Boston and Sandwich Glass Company was incorporated in 1826 to hold the glass factory built a year earlier in Sandwich, Massachusetts, by Deming Jarves. The factory was closed in 1888. The factory was one of the earliest to produce pressed glass. (Wikipedia) I find this to be a fascinating piece of work. Although the shard that is missing is noticeable, I find it adds charm to it. You can put a LED or battery operated light in it to show its beauty, which is what I did in the pictures. Please carefully studythe pictures so you don't get any surprises. All proceeds benefit the Springfield VT Humane Society. Thank you!
