Description: Antique late 19th Century Lovely Looking Mantle Clock by Ansonia Clock Co USA manufactured in Marble with with rococo style ormolu fittings to the lower case and a tall standing gilded spelter statue to the top of the clock on a painted iron platform of that of a young lady with hair up in Dresses carrying a basket at the elbow and reading from a book.The Clock features a white enamel dial with Roman Chapter Gallery display and a duo of winding studs for both the key wound pendulum movement and for the chime which strikes on the hour, dial sits beneath original bevelled crystal in good order mounted within a hinged gilded door, the reverse to the clock features a pin hinged door which allows one access to the movement palette and pendulum which is signed for Ansonia Clock Co New York USA (as with the dial that also features the makers pictorial mark).Overall good condition, tarnishing to the gilded spelter statue is present from age, ormolu fittings are in good order, dial shows only light wear and crystal is undamaged as is the Marble casing to the clock, movement has been tested as working, taking a full wind.To Confirm there is no key for the clock but the clock was tested using a key from another clock so one will need to be sourced.Standing 52 cm tall and with a case width and breadth of 33 cm and 15 cm respectively it makes for an imposing but nicely themed period time piece and a great decorators item for the home.Will benefit from a gentle clean and possibly an oiling as although functional i do not know when the clock was last serviced and oiled. weight : 4.5 kilos
