Description: Pretty in Pink Vintage Anchor Hocking Miss America Oval Serving Platter and Oval Serving Bowl; Depression GlassBeauties. From my personal collection. Used sparingly during first year or so of ownership. Thereafter, rested quietly behind glass in a display cabinet for 25+ years. One of the most popular Depression Glass patterns, Miss America's rows of hobnail diamonds on the flat rim and rays in the center of the plate give it plenty of angles for the light to reflect and bounce. This original pressed glass plate was manufactured in the United States using fused glass techniques. Production of this unmarked pattern, from 1935 to 1938, spanned the 1937 merger that changed Hocking to Anchor Hocking Glass. Condition is Vintage Used; no chips cracks or repairs. Manufacturer's flaw on platter - see photo 12 in the glare. All points are intact. Expected Vintage wear of random light utensil marks. From an entirely subjective point of view, for being about 90 years old, these beautiful pieces are in very good condition.
