Description: I am offering a mid 19th century American Rosewood Tea Caddy. The rosewood veneer is missing a piece near the bottom, as can be seen in the pictures, the secondary wood is American White Pine. Tea was an indulgence in the 19th century it had to be imported and the tea caddy was a showpiece, most were made of expensive wood some were inlaid etc. American examples are quite rare compared to English ones. The caddy measures aprox. 7.5" wide X 4.5" deep X 4.5 high.
