It is the rare, older version and is in the old style white Pleasant Company box. It was purchased from another collector and looks new but I am calling it used so you won't be disappointed. There does appear to be some repair work done to 2 spokes of the chair. The inside of the box lid has some pencil writing in it, so it looks used. However, it is still in the white box with dark burgundy printed ribbon on the outside. What a rare treat! Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence while seated in a handsome writing chair like this one. The writing arm swings from side to side so Felicity can sit easily in her full gowns.
