AMAZING Beatles collection, 16 guitars (as the FAB four)!!! FREE SHIPPING!!!

Description: This collection of 16 guitars represents the same models of about 95% of all guitars used by the Beatles throughout their career. See Demo video of each on Youtube (as mentioned in each description). Those videos were made with no professional help of any kind. Just in good fun… These guitars were part of a 2013/4 Beatles exposition at the Museum “Pointe-à-Callière” in Montréal, Québec, Canada celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Beatles (2) shows presented in Montréal on September 8th, 1964. Check out their site! Value is based on: 1) The value of each guitar individually, 2) The guitars as a group, 3) Research done by myself as a Beatles aficionado over the years to find the exact same model and configurations as used by John, Paul and George, - Extensive research, in the US and Europe, - Many visits to Mr. Andy Babiuk’s Fab Gear Boutique in Rochester, NY, - A visit to Höfner Hagenau Plant, Germany (near Bamberg), - Meetings with Höfner's Master Luthier Dieter Fischer and Mr. Nick Wass, Director at Höfner, - “Pilgrimage” to the NAMM show in California, - Meeting with Rickenbacker executives, - Extensive investments as some of these guitars don’t come cheap ($ xx xxx).4) Ships for FREE in Canada and the continental States! Other location needs to contact me first! How I do it: 1) Each guitar will be ship individually; 2) Before shipping: Each guitar will get a "visit" from my guitar tech before shipping to make sure they are up to par. That doesn't mean that the recipient won't have to do the same upon getting the guitars as humidity, transport and climate have their effects on any string instrument; 3) Protection in the case: I will detune each strings to prevent breakage during transport. I will also prevent strings from ringing by passing a piece of paper between each string. I will make sure that any space gap in the case will be filled. I will also ensure that the handle of the case doesn't rattle; 4) Boxing: Each guitar in their suitable case will be boxed with padding material to protect during transport; 5) Identification: I will put the shipping info on both sides of the box. I will also mask any bar code previously use and printed on the box to prevent redirections; 6) Tracking no: I will make sure that the Buyer gets all the tracking no of all guitars. I will follow each guitar sent and give you and update regularly as to where they are. That's how I do it! I've shipped over 100 guitars in the last 5 years in Canada, the US and abroad. I must have gone through 40-50 rolls of tapes!!! I’d like to thank Mr. Andy Babiuk for his “bible”: Beatles Gear. A M-U-S-T READ! The guitars in this auction are referenced via the page number of that book (Revised edition ISBN 0-87930-731-5). All guitars are mint, in excellent condition and come with original cases, unless otherwise specified. Photos and any answers to questions will be gladly provided to serious buyers. See my intro/Presentation video on Youtube: Beatles Collection Intro from JL Guitar #1: 2008 Höfner Club 40 (Serial no #1) Model 1959 Guitar. Description: - This is a 2008 re-issue of the Höfner Club 40 that Sir John used. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10, with original (special) case. Characteristics: - This guitar is the prototype of the 120 guitar serie that was made to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Höfner. - This guitar was presented to Mrs. Yoko Ono to get approval from the John Lennon estate for the production of the remainder 119. Initially, Mrs Ono thought that this was Sir Paul’s guitar as shown in the famous photo of the early edition of the group where Sir John chose to pose with his “new” Rickenbacker 325 and Sir Paul (who mostly played piano at the time) wanted an instrument in his hands. - This is serial number #1 of the 120 Club 40 guitar production. - These were hand-made by Master Luthier Dieter Fischer in Germany. - This guitar is just like the one that Sir John’s aunt Mimi paid with a deposit of 17 pounds at the Hessy’s Music Shop on August 28th, 1959, a day before the Quarrymen (group started by Sir John) made their first appearance at Liverpool’s Casbah Coffee Club. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known. Guitar serial #1 differs from the other 119 guitar production as it has a trust rod cover. The other 119 don’t. I know, I have 2 of them, the only two known to be in Canada. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #1 - Hofner Club 40 (No 1 / 120) from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 30-31. Guitar #2: 1997 Rickenbacker 325 Jetglo Guitar. Description: - This is a 1997 Rickenbacker 325 Jetglo guitar like Sir John’s. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10, with original case. Characteristics: - Sir John bought this ¾ guitar because it was just like Jean “touts” Thielemans’s. - Sir John bought his Rickenbacker 325 in 1960 but it was a 1958 model. - The guitar was not originally Jetglo (black). That finish was not available at Rickenbacher. It was introduced later on as Sir John had painted his black to fit the suits that Brian Epstein had the Beatles wear. - It’s identical to Sir John’s second Rickenbacker 325 guitar that he got from a Rickenbacker representative in 1964 as the Beatles went on a Miami vacation. This model is known as the “Miami” model. - Story has it that teenager from the States would call the Rickenbacker distributor in Germany to get the same guitar (as they thought that Rickenbacker would have to be made in Germany, due to the German name). That proved to be a challenge for Rickenbacker in the States as they didn’t offer the black (Jetglo) finish at the time. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known, except year of manufacture. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #2 - Rickenbacker 325 from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 118-119. Guitar #3: 2007 Gibson J160E Acoustic Guitar. Description: - This is a rare 2007 Gibson J160E Acoustic guitar just like Sir John and Sir George. Condition: - Mint! 9 / 10 (as there is some scuff on the back of the guitar), with original case. Characteristics: - It’s identical to the 1962 model that Sir George and Sir John used. - Sir John guitar was given various paint jobs over the year (from this original Sunburst finish to the 1969 Bed-in in Montreal, Canada. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known to the original sunburst finish changed later to the final Bed-in finish. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #3 - Gibson J160E from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 74-75. Guitar #4: 2007 Epiphone Casino Guitar. Description: - This is a 2007 Epiphone Casino Guitar just like the ones that Sir George and Sir John got in 1966. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10, with original case. Characteristics: - John used solely his Casino from 1966 on. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known. Made in Korea. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #4 - Epiphone Casino from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 150-151. Guitar #5: 2003 Gretsch Duo Jet Guitar. Description: - This is a 2003 Gretsch Duo Jet Guitar. Characteristics: - Sir George had bought a guitar just like this one in 1961 from a sailor who brought it back from the States. He had bought it from Manny’s Guitar Shop in NYC. - The strap button was displaced a bit (just like the same $20 000 model issued by Gretsch) just like Sir George’s as when the Bigsby was installed, original screws wouldn’t fit. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10, with original case. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #5 - Gretsch Duo Jet from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 54-55. Guitar #6: 2007 Gretsch Country Gentleman Guitar. Description: - This is a 2007 Gretsch “Chet Atkins” Country Gentleman Guitar. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10, with original case. Characteristics: - Sir George initial 1963 guitar had “screw-down” mutes which proved not very practical as it took some time to screw and unscrew them to the right position. - That first guitar was famously known to have been destroyed as it fell from the top of the minivan they were using coming back from Hamburg and touring England. - Sir George acquired a second one with the more usable “flip-up” mutes. - Comes with the original back cover to prevent buckle rash. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known, except year of manufacture. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #6 - Gretsch Country Gentleman from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 90-91. Guitar #7: 1959 Rickenbacker 425 Guitar. Description: - This is a 1959 Rickenbacker 425 guitar. Condition: - Mint! 8 / 10. Bit of scuffs, photos available. With original case. Characteristics: - Sir George bought one just like this one in 1963 while visiting his sister in the USA. So this one is an earlier model. - Sir George had it modified to accommodate a second pickup and, wanting to imitate Sir John, painted the original Fireglo finish with a black lacquer and . - Note the extremely rare Rickenbacker metal nameplate. Delta with the actual instrument: - As bought by Sir George initially. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #7 - Rickenbacker 425 from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 94-95. Guitar #8: 1963 Gretsch “Chet Atkins” Tennessean Guitar. Description: - This is a 1963 Gretsch “Chet Atkins” Tennessean Guitar. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10, with original case. Characteristics: - Sir George played a guitar just like this one on multiple occasions. - It was also played by a number of guitarists of that era, including Gerry from Gerry and the Pacemakers, the guitarist from the Animals, etc. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #8 - 1963 Gretsch Tennessean from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 106-107. Guitar #9: 2004 Rickenbacker 360 - 12 string Fireglo Guitar. Description: - This similar (thought more recent model) 12 strings Rickenbacker guitar was played by Sir George and became the signature of the British invasion. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10, with original case. Characteristics: - Sir George acquired a Rickenbacker 360 – 12 strings in c. 1965. His first one was a bit different but his second one was relatively similar to this one. - It has a mono output and a Rick-O-Sound output (Stereo). Delta with the actual instrument: - More recent model (from the second one he got). See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #9 - Rickenbacker 360-12strings from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 170-171. Guitar #10: 2010 American Fender Rocky Guitar. Description: - This guitar was commissioned by myself and was painted by an american artist on a 2010 American Stratocaster Fender guitar. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10, with original case. Characteristics: - In 1965, Sir John and Sir George acquired a pair of American made Stratocaster which were painted “Sonic Blue”. - In 1967 Sir George painted his with some children’s school material to what was then known as the “Rocky guitar”. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known except for year of manufacture. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #10 - Rocky Guitar from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 206-207. Guitar #11: 2010 Gibson SG Guitar. Description: - Sir George acquired the guitar in 1966 and it was used on “Revolver”. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10, with original case. Characteristics: - This guitar is a Gibson “Custom Shop” replica of Sir George’s 1964 Gibson SG in every way. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #11 - Gibson Les Paul SG from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 178-179. Guitar #12: Coral Sitar Guitar (as seen in Help!). Description: - Coral Sitars were made originally between 1967 and 1969. Condition: - Mint! 9 / 10. 2 very little dings on body. With original case. Characteristics: - Sir John and Sir George were given two of the first Coral Sitars made by Danelectro. - Sir George got his first contact with the Coral Sitar sound in a restaurant scene where an indian guitarist was laying it. - It is not known if Sir George played a Coral Sitar on a Beatles recording as he was getting to know the Indian traditions at the time and most probably used a real sitar, as taught by Ravi Shankar. - Not Beatles related: Exactly as played by Steve Howe in the first part of Close to the Edge! Delta with the actual instrument: - None known. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #12 - Coral Sitar from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 211. Guitar #13: 1974 Fender VI Bass. Description: - This 1974 Fender VI Bass is the exact same model that Sir John and Sir George played when Sir Paul was on the piano or on guitar. Story has it that both were not comfortable playing on the fret scale of a normal bass so they used this one which is a compromise between a guitar scale and a bass scale. Remember that John played on a Rickenbacker Jetglo 325 which was a ¾ guitar scale… Condition: - Almost mint! 9 / 10 as it has some small varnish dinks on the very bottom, where the strap button is. Comes with original case (special configuration due to the size/scale of the instrument). Characteristics: - It plays like a guitar (riffs and chords) but the strings are a whole octave below a regular guitar. - Because of a lack of popularity, very few of those where ever made, especially with that configuration. Delta with the actual instrument: - Year made. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Beatles Collection: Video #13 - Fender VI from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 227. Guitar #14: 2006 Fender Telecaster Rosewood Guitar (Model 1968) (as played on top of the Apple building). Description: - In December of 1968, Fender R&D department presented Sir George with this one-of-a-kind Rosewood Telecaster. No other copy exists. Sir George used it on what would later be the last concert of the Beatles on top of the Apple studios. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10, with original case. Characteristics: - Sir George was given this one of kind instrument by Fender (c. 1966) which he played (through a Leslie) on top of the Apple offices on what would be the last Beatles concert. - Sir George was invited by his friend Eric Clapton to come along and play in a small London club with Delaney (Bramlett) and Bonnie and friends for a few nights. - One night, Sir George told Delaney that he had other engagements and wouldn’t be able to play again. As a token of his gratitude, he gave the guitar to Delaney which, story has it, couldn’t accept such a gift to which Sir George counter by saying that he, Delaney, had given Sir George the greatest gift of all: The joy of playing music again (which he had lost after lengthy and deep feuds with the Beatles that lead to the separation of the Group). - The story continues: In 2006, Mr. Babiuk communicated with Mr. Delaney who agreed to send the guitar in NY State so that Mr. Babiuk could have Fender Custom Shop do a copy. The Fender custom shop luthiers scanned, ex-rayed and examined the guitar in every which way, found the proper rosewood and made one exactly like it. This guitar is it. Delta with the actual instrument: - It is as close as you can get from having the actual Sir George guitar! Delta with the actual instrument: - None known. See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Beatles Collection: Video #14 - Fender Telecaster from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 238-239. Guitar #15: 2007 Rickenbacker Fretless Fireglo Bass. Description: - This a 2007 right handed Rickenbacker fretless Bass. Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10 with original case. Characteristics: - Rickenbacker made the last fretless bass in 2007 and I was told by Rickenbacker executives that it was the last one made. Delta with the actual instrument: - Sir Paul’s Rickenbacker is left handed and is not fretless. - Sir Paul acquired his in 1965 and it replaced his Höfner 500/1 bass. His was Fireglo (like this one) but later sanded down to the natural wood, just like John did for his Casino and the Gibson J160E. - Nevertheless, being a rare and most probably the last Rickenbacker fretless bass made, it has a great value on the market. - It has a mono output and a Rick-O-Sound output (Stereo). See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #15 - Rickenbacker Fireglo Bass Guitar from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 234-235. Guitar #16: 2002 Höfner 500/1 Bass, Model 1961. Description: - This is a 2002 left handed Höfner 500/1 model 1961 (notice the close adjacent pickups). Condition: - Mint! 10 / 10. With special (original) case. Characteristics: - Sir Paul originally chose this model (500/1) because it was (and looked) symmetrical and was easier to play as a lefty. - The 1961 model has 2 pickups situated very close to one another whereas the latter models have more separated pickups. It also features the old vertical Höfner company label. - This bass was made especially for Sir Paul by Höfner Master Luthier Dieter Fischer which I had the pleasure to meet in 2013 in Bamberg, Germany at the Höfner plant. - Three of these were made: 1 was kept by Höfner, 1 was given to Sir Paul (via Mr. Babiuk) and the 3rd one is part of this collection. A letter from Mr. Babiuk confirming this is available. Delta with the actual instrument: - Sir Paul uses the 1962 model but this bass is his back-up bass. Delta with the actual instrument: - None known (except for year of making: 2002). See my demo on Youtube!: Beatles Collection: Video #16 - Hofner Bass Model 1961 from JL Beatle’s gear reference: Page 50.
