Enough for several applications.) Altinay is a higher-end Meerschaum brand known for quality and that you’re getting a very good Meerschaum Pipe. No surprises and I like they have the stem insert to verify the brand as well. Their Sultan and Similar pipes sell for $199 on their website right now, sometimes on sale for $189.95 and they don’t have the Altinay Insert either. This is such a classic design, it’s almost synonymous with Meers. The Sultan looks great and no chips or mistakes on the pipe. All Meerschaums are hand carved as it’s the only way it’s done, likely in Eskişehir, Turkey. The sultan is one of the first designs one thinks of when imagining a figural Meerschaum pipe. It sports the Altinay insert on the colorful acrylic stem with a plastic screw in insert that goes into the stem and not directly into the Meerschaum itself which can lower the life or be predisposed to wear faster. It’s in top condition as unused, vintage and in its original, custom fitted case. The meerschaum is from Eskişehir, Turkey where nearly all quality meerschaum is mined and carved by hand. I almost always will ship the next business day. I put within 1-3 business days as sometimes on busier weeks, I’ll need an extra day to properly pack everything. I’ve never had an item arrive damaged. In most cases, I have a poly bag on top to make it rain resistant and a bit more secure. The exception is it the package is larger than standard.
