Here is a nice opportunity to enjoy the original artwork while saving on the cost of an original dustjacket. See my listings for more. Several different classic PhotoPlay & mystery jackets available. All digitally remastered dustjackets are shipped in a removable, Brodart or Demco archival dustjacket protector, and are ready to place on your book. Due to the scarcity of this dustjacket, I have added an embossed digital watermark to these images to avoid unauthorized duplication. The embossed watermark will NOT appear over the artwork on the front panel. The counter-stamps identifying this as a reproduction WILL appear discretely on the flaps only. About Jackets: The dustjacket offered in this auction is digitally scanned from a high quality original. The master is then carefully restored to remove any minor imperfections. This significantly enhances the eye appeal rather than just offering a color photocopy with flaws. Great care is taken to painstakingly retouch these images with emphasis on maintaining the full scope of the original artwork and preserving the texture and granularity of the original. The dustjacket is then printed on an industrial quality machine which far exceeds the image quality possible on any inkjet printer, and produces sharper, crisper images and much better color definition (tone, hue & saturation) with pleasing results. About Postage: Combined shipping: Dustjackets are shipped boxed & wrapped via USPS First Class Parcel. First remastered dustjacket is $3.00. Each additional dustjacket is only 50c. Any extra postage charged at eBay checkout will be refunded. About Title: Who could be trusted in that colorful gathering at the famous gambling resort on the Riviera? There was Esther Rowe, a young American nurse and Dr. Sartorious, the strange grim scientist for whom she worked; Sir Charles Clifford, a kind old British millionaire and Lady Therese, his beautiful young French wife whom he took from the stage to marry; Roger Clifford, his son, and Arthur Holliday, whom men distrust and women adore, chief among his present adorers, unfortunately for Sir Charles, being the lovely Therese. Sir Charles is taken ill with a mild form of typhoid, Sartorious attends him and Esther is one of his nurses. From the first she is filled with an unease, a sense of unknown forces opposing her in the sick room, of disturbances sinister as the brush of a bat's wing and as difficult to seize. She is marked by the enemies of Sir Charles who stop at nothing to gain their ends. Out of this atmosphere of danger and mystery comes a smashing unforseen conclusion. About Author: Frank King (1892-1958), born in Halifax, was a physician as well as the author of over two dozen mystery novels. About Movie: Victor Sartorius (Karloff) is an ailing doctor working in Morocco. He teams up with Lady Yvonne Clifford (Mona Goya) in a plot to poison her husband, Sir Charles Clifford (Morton Selten), so he can collect the 20,000 pounds necessary to save his experiments and his funding. Roger Clifford (Arthur Margetson), the son of Sir Charles has also been marked for death. The only one who can stop the murder plot of Sartorius is Nurse Eve Rowe (Joan Wyndham).
